Our client in Harare is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the FMCG wholesale industry.
A leading wholesale business is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth and optimization of its Store-in-Store model across multiple branches. This role requires a strategic and results-oriented professional with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build high-value retail partnerships that enhance customer experience and drive profitability.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Drive the strategic growth and expansion of the Store-in-Store model across branches
- Identify, onboard, and negotiate with retail partners, including structuring commercial agreements and revenue models
- Manage and strengthen relationships with in-store partners to ensure performance and compliance
- Monitor sales performance, gross profit contribution, and space productivity across partner categories
- Implement initiatives to improve merchandising, product mix, and in-store promotions
- Oversee daily operations of Store-in-Store sections, ensuring alignment with overall store operations
- Collaborate with internal teams to support partner integration, campaigns, and product launches
- Identify underperforming areas and implement corrective commercial strategies
- Lead and develop Store-in-Store teams, ensuring consistent execution and reporting standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience in retail, FMCG, or commercial partnerships roles
- Strong background in negotiating and managing commercial agreements and revenue models
- Experience managing multi-site operations or multiple business units
- Solid understanding of retail KPIs including sales performance and space utilization
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with exposure to executive-level reporting
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution
