Position Overview

The Fuel Depot Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a fuel storage and distribution facility. This role ensures safe handling, efficient supply chain management, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The manager will lead a team of depot staff, coordinate logistics, and maintain high standards of safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management
    • Supervise fuel receipt, storage, and dispatch activities.
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and facilities.
    • Maintain accurate records for regulatory reporting.
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage depot staff schedules, training, and performance.
    • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Financial & Administrative Duties
    • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and operational reports.
    • Control costs while maximizing efficiency.
    • Oversee billing, documentation, and customer service processes.
  • Logistics & Customer Relations
    • Liaise with transport companies to ensure timely deliveries.
    • Resolve customer complaints and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Optimize supply chain processes to reduce downtime and delays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fuel, oil & gas, or logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
