Our client in Nairob is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team within the Data Management Sector.
Responsibilities (Key Deliverables)
- Supervise the finance department and ensure uninterrupted daily operations (payroll, AP, AR, treasury).
- Maintain month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and commentary for the Board and Exco.
- Lead and finalise the FY27 budget process.
- Coordinate the FY26 external audit and manage auditor relationships.
- Review and improve collection strategies to reduce aged debt.
- Coordinate finance activities related to the flood insurance claim.
- Strengthen internal controls and identify operational/financial risks.
- Improve reporting visibility, dashboards, automation, and departmental efficiency.
- Effectively engage with all internal and external stakeholders, including Group Finance and regulators.
Requirements (Qualifications & Competencies)
- Experience: Proven senior finance leadership experience, ideally in a similar interim or transition role.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to act as a strategic business partner, not just a day-to-day operator.
- Governance Expertise: Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and statutory compliance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and working capital management.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to engage with Executive Management, Boards, Group Finance, auditors, banks, regulators, and insurers.
- Crisis/Transition Management: Comfortable stepping into a role mid-stream and providing stability during a leadership gap.
