Our client in the Democratic Republic of Congo is looking for a Country Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the logistics/ mining industry.

▪Coordinate and supervise clearing team
▪Support Group company for any questions regarding Logistics and customs
▪Preparation and review of financial information
▪Review any issues raised by the DRC tax authorities
▪Ensure timely monthly financial reporting
▪Ensure strict adherence to Financial Group Procedures
▪Supervise the finance team and ensure that financial procedures are strictly applied
▪Prepare accurate and useful consolidated financial information for shareholders
▪Explore investment opportunities through in-depth financial modelling and forecasting
▪Develop and evaluate profit plans for new business development
▪Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
▪Identify key risks within the group and prepare a risk profile matrix with proposed solutions to minimize exposure.
▪Coordinate with other members of the Group’s finance team and work closely with the finance teams of individual companies to review financial information and forecasts.
▪Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
▪Make recommendations for process streamlining and continuous improvement and efficiency.
▪Ensure preventive maintenance plan of fleets and equipment to reach minimum 90% availability.
▪Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day to day operations.
▪Take ownership of the balance sheet, P&L and all technical accounting duties
▪Review monthly performances of clearing team
▪Review any query raised by DRC tax authorities
▪Analyse monthly maintenance costs and job cards to identify any abnormal usage/expenses.
▪Ensure close follow up of company assets (maintenance, tracking, legal documentation) and propose repair plan for write off assets (e.g trailer,..)
▪Review W/S manpower organization to effectively manage the day to day operations, liaising with operations department on requirements.
▪Business development: Identify new business development opportunities streams (equipment, clearing, handling,..)
▪Analyse current and past financial data and performance
EXPERIENCE
▪10 years relevant experience ideally with Logistic mining and DRC exposure
▪Fluency in French end English an added advantage
▪Organised and processes driven
▪SAP & SAGE ERP systems knowledge is a plus
▪Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
▪Good analytical and financial modelling skills
▪Previous experience to work in a remote site is an asset
