Our international client in the animal science and nutrition industry is recruiting a Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator for their operation in Kenya. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and resolve logistics and supply chain issues by focusing on supply chain planning, procurement management, inventory management, and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of chains and the industry. They should also have the ability to develop good relationships and communication with stakeholders (suppliers, manufacturers, and customers).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with other members of the supply chain including suppliers, vendors, shipping companies, and warehouse managers to ensure all shipments are delivered on time.
  • Maintaining inventory levels by ordering materials needed for production.
  • Coordinating with Marketing and Sales teams to identify and resolve any issues causing disruptions to the supply chain. This may involve interpretation of forecasts and identifying outlier events.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status or delivery issues to ensure smooth operation of the supply chain.
  • Reviewing inventory levels, prices, and vendor contracts to identify areas for improvement in efficiency or cost savings.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as those pertaining to labeling and selling of Veterinary remedies
  • Creating reports on supply chain activities and performance, including purchase orders, inventory levels, shipment schedules, and production schedules
  • Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing plans to mitigate these risks
  • Review historical sales trends – Analyze flow of stock to spot trends, make corrections and generate solutions. Research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results
  • Manage inventory levels – and targets to ensure demand plan is achieved
  • Ensure that shipment forecast – orders are in place and up to date and replenishments plans
  • Ensure replenishment are planned – relation to budgeted inventory closing stock position at year end, track and report any big variances.

Qualifications

  • BCOM Logistics; or
  • Degree/Diploma in Quantitative Analytics; or
  • Degree/Diploma in Operational Research; or
  • Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering; or
  • Degree/Diploma in Applied Mathematics
  • Preferably some animal health or agricultural degree and a qualification in logistics.
  • Min 6+ years industry experience in logistics, MRP and forecasting
  • Ability to build relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Knowledge of SAP and other software packages available efficiently.
  • Ability to develop into a succession plan.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Interactive & communicates well with people
  • Strong Analytical and Planning skills.
