Our client in Burundi is looking for a General Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the hospitality industry.

  • Oversee the overall operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient daily functioning
  • Drive exceptional guest experience and service quality in line with boutique hospitality standards
  • Manage and supervise all departments including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies
  • Lead, train, and motivate staff, fostering a positive and performance-driven culture
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives to enhance occupancy and brand visibility

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A postgraduate qualification (e.g., master’s in hospitality management or MBA) is an advantage
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within a hotel environment
  • Strong operational and commercial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in French is a strong advantage
  • Experience in East Africa or similar markets is an added advantage
