Job Purpose

The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen brand visibility. This role oversees the sales team, marketing activities, customer relationships, and product promotion to ensure competitiveness within the milling, FMCG, and manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities, distribution channels, and market segments.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing developments to maintain competitiveness.
  • Lead sales forecasting and contribute to annual budget development.

Marketing & Brand Management

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning across all communication platforms.
  • Conduct market research to understand consumer needs and recommend product or packaging improvements.
  • Manage advertising agencies, media partners, and promotional suppliers.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers.
  • Oversee customer service standards and resolve major customer queries or escalations.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and trade agreements with key accounts.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the sales and marketing team to deliver operational excellence.
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Provide training, coaching, and support to enhance team capability.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare sales and marketing reports, including performance analysis and market insights.
  • Track ROI on marketing activities and promotional spend.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, product regulations, and company policies.

Key Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in sales and marketing, preferably in FMCG, food processing, milling, or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage sales teams and achieve commercial targets.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and marketing tools.
  • Deep understanding of FMCG distribution channels and consumer behaviour.
