Client Description: Our client is a leading well established consumer goods manufacturer
operating in Kenya and the wider East African region. Its core activities include the production
and distribution of snack foods, such as crisps and related snack products, as well as personal
hygiene care products including tissue and other paper-based essentials. The business serves
both retail and wholesale markets and also provides private-label manufacturing solutions,
enabling partners to market customized products under their own brands.

Job Summary: The Human Resources lead will be responsible for leading and managing all HR
functions to support the organization’s strategic objectives. This role oversees talent acquisition,
employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation and
benefits, and compliance with labor laws. The HR lead will partner closely with senior
leadership and line managers to build a high-performance culture, ensure effective workforce
planning, and drive employee engagement while maintaining best HR practices and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition, workforce planning, onboarding, and succession planning processes.
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary processes, grievance handling, andconflict resolution in line with labor laws and company policies.
  • Oversee performance management systems, ensuring effective goal setting, appraisals,and development planning.
  • Design and drive learning, training, and employee development initiatives to build organizational capability and leadership pipelines.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination to ensure internal equity,
    competitiveness, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, statutory requirements, and HR best
    practices.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture, employee engagement, and wellbeing initiatives.
    Advise management and line leaders on HR matters, organizational design, and change management.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, HR analytics, and reporting to support data-driven
    decision making.
  • Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring high standards of service delivery andcontinuous improvement.
  • Support health, safety, and wellness initiatives in collaboration with operations and management teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a Human Resources leadership role, with broad
    exposure across core HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations,
    performance management, learning and development, and HR compliance, preferably
    within the snack manufacturing, personal care manufacturing, or FMCG sectors, ideally
    in multinational or well-structured organizations.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration,
    Industrial Psychology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional HR
    qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Professional HR certification such as IHRM, SHRM, or CIPD is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing
    environment, including policy development, workforce planning, and employee
    engagement initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, HR best practices, and employee
    relations frameworks; experience working with unionized or large workforce environments will be an added advantage.
