Our client in Maputo is looking for a Electrical Technician to join their team for a job vacancy within the FMCG Sector.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Execution: Industrial Electrical Technicians are responsible for planning and executing electrical projects, including installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems within industrial facilities.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: These technicians troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose problems, and make informed decisions to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Industrial Electrical Technicians work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, maintenance personnel, and production staff, to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall operations.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Some Industrial Electrical Technicians may take on leadership roles, providing guidance and mentorship to junior technicians or apprentices.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: Continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and innovation, these technicians identify ways to optimize electrical systems, enhance efficiency, and reduce energy consumption in industrial environments.
- Technical or Customer-Facing Responsibilities: Industrial Electrical Technicians may interact directly with customers to understand their electrical needs, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction with the installed systems.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, industrial automation, and reading electrical schematics.
- Educational Requirements: Minimum of an associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or related field. Relevant certifications such as Certified Electrical Technician (CET) are a plus.
- Experience Level: 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, familiarity with NEC codes, and prior work in manufacturing or similar industrial settings.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, adaptability to changing environments, leadership qualities, and a strong focus on safety.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of OSHA regulations, electrical safety standards, and experience with industrial control systems.
