Our client in Pemba is looking for a Construction Foreman to join their team for a job vacancy within the Construction Sector.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of the weekly and daily planning of the activities of the work.
  • Distribute tasks among the teams according to the schedule and established priorities.
  • Ensure that materials, equipment and tools are available before the start of activities.
  • Correctly interpret and apply drawings, plans and technical specifications.
  • Supervise the execution of foundations, structures, masonry, concrete, formwork, frames and finishes.
  • Control the quality of execution, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Directly supervise the operational teams (bricklayers, carpenters, blacksmiths, servants, painters, electricians, plumbers, etc.);
  • Monitor the daily performance of the teams and ensure the expected productivity.
  • Request materials and equipment according to the approved planning.
  • Monitor the waste rate and implement reduction measures.
  • Implement and supervise Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) standards.
  • Ensure that all workers use PPE and CPE properly.
  • Identify and eliminate risk situations at the construction site.
  • Record daily the physical progress of the work, consumption of materials and hours worked.
  • Ensure the documentary traceability of the activities performed.
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with the Engineer and the Site Director.

Requirements

  • Complete secondary education with technical training in Civil Construction, Buildings or Public Works.
  • Complementary training in Construction Production Management will be valued.
  • Minimum experience of 7 years in civil construction.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Construction Foreman.
  • Experience in industrial works, infrastructure, or oil and gas projects will be an advantage.
  • Reading and interpretation of architectural projects, structures and installations.
  • Supervision of the execution and compliance with technical quality standards.
  • Knowledge of safety, health and environmental procedures (QHSE);
  • Mastery of basic tools of MS Office (Excel, Word) and MS Project (basic).
  • Occupational Safety and Health (OSH); QHSE / HSE Basic; ISO 45001, ISO 14001
  • First Aid and Fire Fighting; Reading and Interpretation of Projects.
