Purpose Statement
To deliver world-class training that embodies the company’s culture, ethics, core values, and brand standards. The Skills Trainer ensures that both new and existing franchisees and their teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold operational excellence and brand integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor structured training pathways for restaurant teams and managers, ensuring timely certification.
- Maintain accurate and accessible training records and documentation.
- Conduct on-the-job training and uphold brand standards through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with operational teams to align training interventions with business objectives.
- Analyze training dashboards and partner with teams to improve performance metrics.
- Facilitate group training initiatives to enhance managerial competencies across the network.
- Train team members on brand recipes and SOPs, ensuring quality and speed benchmarks are met.
- Lead training for new restaurant openings, providing detailed feedback and learner progress reports.
- Support training for COH and revamped stores, maintaining continuous communication with operations.
- Launch and train teams on new menu items.
- Conduct practical in-restaurant assessments and coaching sessions.
- Share best practices and updates during weekly TEAMs meetings and through brand communications.
- Ensure company assets are maintained in accordance with policy.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including proactive calendar planning and regular restaurant visits.
Education & Experience
Formal Education:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field
- Formal training qualifications (Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator) are advantageous
Experience:
- 3–5 years in a training or similar role
- In-store training experience within a leading food service or franchising organization
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Willingness to travel extensively, locally and internationally
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in food preparation and presentation
- Strong understanding of operational processes and food safety standards
- Computer literacy
- In-depth knowledge of brand SOPs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with diverse training methodologies and their practical application
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to engage, motivate, and coach learners effectively
- Punctuality and professional appearance
- Agility and innovation in adopting new learning methods
