Maintenance & Operations Supervisor – Open Pit Mining

Description:
An established mining and earthmoving contractor is seeking skilled Maintenance and Operations Supervisors to oversee open-pit activities and lead teams across a large mining fleet.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily maintenance and operational activities for excavators, dump trucks, dozers, graders, and drills.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor production and equipment uptime to meet project targets.
  • Lead and mentor operators, artisans, and support crews, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Liaise with site management to implement maintenance schedules and operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate shift reports, logs, and performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in open-pit mining operations, including 3+ years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Komatsu, Caterpillar, Liebherr, and Epiroc machinery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a production-driven environment.
