• Manage the accounting, admin HR, IT, statutory, tax and treasury functions.
• Overseeing the legal functions, liaising with lawyers etc.
• Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting the implementation of strategic business plans.
• Prepare detailed analysis /scenarios/budgets for investment opportunities, projects and employment and advise the Directors accordingly.
• Monitor the company’s capital-intensive projects and developments to ensure the same are executed within budget and available resources.
• Developing and monitoring the annual budget
• Participate in key decision-making processes as a member of the executive
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
• Oversee and report financial results to the board of Directors.
• Ensure that the company complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements including overseeing monthly VAT/ withholding tax returns and reconciliations
• Monitor and manage cash balances, cash-flow forecasts and ensure optimized utilization of the company’s liquid funds.
• Arrange for debt and equity financing as necessary;
• Negotiating with / Represent the company with bankers and other external stakeholders;
• Partnering on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to the business as a whole and to finance, HR and IT, to help build and implement the Group’s strategy
• Directing and managing the performance, recruitment and training of the finance team
Developing and reviewing finance policies and standard operating processes (SOPs) to enhance internal control systems within the company and Management of cost saving initiatives
• Preparing timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments and cash-flow management reports
• Liaising with external auditors, regulators and other third parties and implementing internal audit findings
• Providing recommendations on how to improve the company balance sheet, P&L and cash-flows.
• Managing the insurance portfolio when it falls due, Signing LPOs, authorizing payments and signing cheques
• Any other duties that you may be allocated from time to time by the Directors
