General Manager – Mining (Gold Operation, Zimbabwe)
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager – Mining to lead the gold mining operations of our client in Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable mining activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for mining operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Oversee production, maintenance, technical services, and support functions to deliver on safety, cost, and production targets.
- Implement and monitor strategic business and operational plans, including cost control, productivity improvement, and risk management.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the operation.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, local communities, and partners, to ensure sustainable and compliant operations.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities and operational efficiencies with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or mechanical engineering or similar.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a General Manager or equivalent executive leadership role.
- Gold mining experience is essential.
- Strong leadership, financial acumen, and operational management skills.
- Proven track record of delivering results in complex mining environments.
- Entrepreneurial flair and the ability to innovate and drive growth will be an added advantage.
