Technical Services Manager – Gold Mining Operation (Zimbabwe)
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Services Manager to join their leadership team at a leading gold mining operation in Zimbabwe. This critical role will provide strategic direction and oversight of the mine’s technical functions, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Technical Services Department, including geology, mine planning, survey, geotechnical, and grade control.
- Provide expert technical guidance to optimize ore body knowledge, production efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Oversee the preparation and implementation of short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and international mining best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and cost control.
- Mentor and develop technical teams to strengthen in-house capacity and succession planning.
- Support the executive team in strategic decision-making and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, or a related discipline (essential).
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a senior Technical Services Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Proven track record in gold mining operations is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
