Territory Leader / Area Manager
Our client, a growing player in the Beverage Industry, is seeking to appoint top-performing Territory Leaders to strengthen their sales operations in key markets. The successful candidates will be responsible for driving wholesale and van sales performance, building customer relationships, and ensuring efficient sales and distribution operations within their designated territories.
Key Responsibilities:
Van Sales Operations
- Achieve van sales targets and deliver on KPIs.
- Plan, map, and optimise sales routes for maximum efficiency.
- Manage stock levels at distributor and customer sites (bars, bottle stores, etc.).
- Oversee and safeguard selling assets.
Wholesale Channel
- Achieve wholesale sales targets and grow market share.
- Collaborate with the Debtors team to follow up on overdue collections.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Develop and execute territory-specific wholesale strategies.
- Manage and grow key accounts within the territory.
Other Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Set KPIs and monitor subordinate performance.
- Track sales data, analyse performance, and prepare management reports.
- Ensure compliance with all sales and business regulations.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Sales, Marketing & Distribution Executive.
Requirements:
- A Business, Sales, or Marketing degree.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Sales/Key Account Management within an FMCG environment (Alcoholic Beverages or Tobacco sector experience is an advantage).
- Proven background in van sales management with a solid understanding of KPIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a pressurised environment.
- A clean Class 4 driver’s licence.
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
- Excellent MS Office proficiency.
