Engineering Supervisor

Responsible for : Assistant Engineering Manager, Section Maintenance engineers and senior technicians
Key Relationships : Cross Functional
Any other key relationships: Third Party Suppliers and Service Providers
Job Purpose: The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring the company’s engineering functions and provides leadership in engineering support and multidisciplinary engineering expertise to production operations.
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Measures
- Engineering Strategy Implementation
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice production engineering, planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Develop, manage and direct the capital and expense budget for the organization’s engineering operations
- Contributing to development of pragmatic processes, policies and procedures
- Daily Engineering Operations
- Designs, proves, implements and maintains production systems to deliver product on time, to quality requirements and to cost
- Drives functional excellence of the production engineering team
- Drives continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean
- techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste
- Develops and maintains project plans to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales
- Identifies and justifies capital equipment investment
- Ensures KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting
- Conducts risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
- Management
- Manages and leads the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, and daily supervision to maximise efficient Productivity
- Motivates and coaches the team to operational success
- Monitors the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
- Ensures that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to
- ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
- Production of Engineering Reports and Generation of Management Insights
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with company and customer requirement

- Stocking of critical/Priority operational spares with timely RFQ planning
- Material usage optimization
- Preventative Maintenance at 90%
- Project Planning effectiveness
- Team Training schedule in place and operational
- Systematic monitoring of cold chain units through operational technology-based tools at 95% efficiency
- Lake Operations safety configuration and monitoring
- Engineering projects in full operation and on schedule
- Ice plant optimization and efficiency tracking 95% of capacity

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision

Education
- MSc. in Engineering
- Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
Experience
- 4 years relevant work experience with Engineering background
- Professional Engineering Certification
