We are recruiting!
Our client is looking for a Sales Manager – Industrial Packaging to join their team. The position involves driving sales growth, overseeing Sales strategies, managing client relationships, and ensuring data-driven decision-making to support business objectives.
Responsibilities
Sales & Marketing:
- Approve costings and quotations within the approved Matrix of Authority.
- Achieve sales and profitability targets as per the annual budget.
- Maintain the company’s reputation with clients and build strong, lasting relationships.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize the effect of competition and increase market share.
- Identify opportunities to increase margins and develop new product categories.
Data Analysis:
- Compile and analyze client and product-wise consumption data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze raw material consumption and highlight areas of concern to support procurement and production planning.
- Prepare dashboards and reports to track performance and support strategic decision-making.
Production & Operations:
- Approve machine programs daily and ensure production processes align with client requirements.
- Advise the Plant Manager and Procurement Officer of market changes affecting raw material planning.
- Ensure excess finished goods are sold within two months of production.
HR & Team Management:
- Manage and inspire the sales and marketing team (minimum 5 members).
- Set goals, monitor productivity, and oversee recruitment and induction of team members.
- Conduct staff productivity analysis and performance monitoring.
Administrative & Reporting:
- Approve job tickets and ensure proper record keeping (contracts, samples, MOUs).
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education:
- MA/MSc or BA/BSc in Sales & Marketing, Statistics/Data Analysis, or Mathematics.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience, including at least 5 years in the printing and packaging industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing a sales and marketing team of at least 3 individuals.
- Experience serving at least 25 industrial clients across multiple sectors.
- Strong exposure to labels (BOPP wraparound, PVC, PET, Self-Adhesive), mono-cartons, and/or flexible packaging.
- Knowledge of production technologies such as UV flexo, letterpress, gravure, laminators, PVC shrink extrusion, LDPE extrusion.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau) is a plus.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities, cross-sell, and up-sell.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; advanced skills are an advantage.
Other Requirements:
- Minimum age: 30 years.
- Ability to work both in-office (70%) and in the field (30%).
