We are recruiting!

Our client, a leading producer of pulp, concentrates, juices, and water is setting up a fruits dehydration plant for the export market. They are hiring a Plant Head to lead the fruits dehydration unit and ensure high-quality finished products for the European market.

Job Purpose:
Ensure commitment to quality, efficient performance of production activities, continuous improvement, and achievement of production standards and quality assurance objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the plant, including construction, installation as per European standards, and preventive and regular maintenance.
  • Prepare, implement, and review budgets; monitor costs and identify opportunities for reduction.
    Plan, organize, direct, and monitor production to deliver dehydrated products for the European market.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to achieve optimal results.
  • Liaise with team members to formulate objectives, organize workflow, and meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Manage supply chain, including sourcing of fruits, production monitoring, and packaging.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures according to recognized standards such as KEBS, FSSC 22000, BRC, Global GAP, ensuring outputs meet quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, KPIs, performance appraisals, and recommendations.
  • Analyze monthly product requirements versus plant capacity and material availability in coordination with production, procurement, engineering, and QA/QC teams.
  • Coordinate all new product development to improve taste, preservation techniques, and packaging, and follow up on product launches.
  • Report regularly to senior management.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, or related fields (BSc, MSc, B. Tech, M. Tech, M.Sc.).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in fruits and vegetable dehydration.( Mandatory)
  • Proven experience in producing quality dehydrated products for the European market.
  • Deep understanding of FSSC 22000, BRC, Global GAP, and other relevant quality standards.
  • Proven experience as a plant manager in fruits and vegetable dehydration.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.
  • Experience in budgeting, performance evaluation, and reporting on key production metrics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a results-driven approach.
