Our client in Kenya, one of the leading exporters of different types of vegetables, flowers, and avocados, is recruiting for a Head of QA for Roses Packhouse. In this role, the ideal candidate will provide critical oversight of Quality control processes and measures in the packhouse as per the quality control manual and standards, to ensure maximum production of quality roses that meet premium requirements. Previous experience in the flower industry is required, as well as a degree in horticulture, floriculture, agriculture, or environmental science.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor quality control mechanism in conformity to the quality manual to ensure
production and supply of Quality stems as per client specification. - Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) throughout the production
process, guaranteeing product quality, safety, and legality. - Ensure flowers are dispatched in full compliance with customer specifications.
- Oversee the packing process to ensure flowers meet customer-specific quality requirements.
- Ensure flowers are dispatched in full compliance with customer specifications.
- Provide timely and efficient responses to internal and external audit issues.
- Promptly report any non-conformance issues to Management that may affect daily packing
operations. - In Collaboration with the QA Manager, organize trainings for staff on relevant codes of practice,
standards, and customer requirements. - Develop, control, and review documentation of all QA data and internal procedures as necessary.
- Prepare and/ or review job descriptions for QCs & QA supervisors.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agriculture or Environmental Science.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Flower Industry preferably Roses Production. 2 years’ experience in a
similar or related position. - Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards and Internal Auditing skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent leadership skills and management skills.
- Analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team player. facilitating
cross-functional collaboration. - Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly with Excel.
