Our client is a reputable and fast-growing company in the pharmaceutical and FMCG distribution sector. Operating across East Africa. As they expand operations in Kenya, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager with 5-9 years of experience to drive financial performance and compliance.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager – Kenya will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving profitability. The role requires a strong business acumen, in-depth knowledge of local tax and financial laws, and the ability to partner with senior leadership to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the country’s financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Advise the Country Manager and leadership on financial implications of business activities.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate financial performance against KPIs.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Financial Operations
- Supervise day-to-day accounting, treasury, and cash flow management.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
Stakeholder Reporting
- Prepare and present timely financial reports to HQ and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA-U, ACCA, or equivalent) is mandatory.
Experience
- 5–9 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax law, and statutory regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Excel.
