Our client is a reputable and fast-growing company in the pharmaceutical and FMCG distribution sector. Operating across East Africa. As they expand operations in Tanzania, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager with 5-9 years of experience to drive financial performance and compliance.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager – Tanzania will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving profitability. The role requires a strong business acumen, in-depth knowledge of local tax and financial laws, and the ability to partner with senior leadership to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership

Lead the development and execution of the country’s financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.

Advise the Country Manager and leadership on financial implications of business activities.
Financial Planning & Analysis

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Monitor and evaluate financial performance against KPIs.
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.

Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Financial Operations

Supervise day-to-day accounting, treasury, and cash flow management.

Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
Stakeholder Reporting

Prepare and present timely financial reports to HQ and external stakeholders.

Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA-U, ACCA, or equivalent) is mandatory.
Experience
-
5–9 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.

Experience in the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector is required.
Skills & Competencies

Excellent knowledge of IFRS, Tanzania tax law, and statutory regulations.

Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.

Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Excel.
