The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement business strategies targeting Zimbabwe’s informal markets.
- Lead sales and business development initiatives to expand market share and revenue.
- Build strong partnerships with informal traders, distributors, and market influencers.
- Identify and unlock growth opportunities within underserved or high-potential areas.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute marketing, promotions, and sales campaigns effectively.
- Track performance metrics, market trends, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide insights on pricing, demand, and consumer behaviour specific to informal markets.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in FMCG, retail, or related sectors with strong exposure to informal markets.
- Proven track record in sales, business development, and marketing leadership roles.
- In-depth knowledge of Zimbabwe’s informal market structures, distribution channels, and buying behaviour.
- Strong negotiation, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- A degree in Marketing, Business, or related field is preferred.
