Overview
Our client in Afungi is looking for Air Ground Marshaller to join their team for a job vacancy within the Air Transport Sector.
Responsibilities
- Aircraft Guidance: Direct aircraft to and from parking stands, taxiways, and runways using standardized hand signals or illuminated wands during low-visibility conditions.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks, including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) inspections to ensure taxiways and parking areas are clear of hazards.
- Coordination: Communicate effectively with pilots via hand signals and, when required, radio equipment to relay instructions from air traffic control.
- Pushback Operations: Guide aircraft during pushback maneuvers, coordinating with pushback tractor operators to ensure safe movement.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized Training: Completion of an aircraft marshalling training course certified by IATA or an equivalent organization, covering ICAO-standard hand signals, aircraft types, and airside safety procedures.
- Additional Certifications: aircraft marshalling certificate
- Human Factors Course: Training in human factors to understand physical and mental limitations, such as fatigue management, is highly desirable
- Preferred Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in aircraft marshalling or ground handling, preferably at a remote or regional airport.
- Operational Familiarity: Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments and coordinating with multiple teams, such as air traffic control and ground support
