Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are recruiting!
Our client, delivering high-impact infrastructure projects and supplying cutting-edge machinery and equipment to the mining sector, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee and manage all aspects of cost estimation, contract administration, and financial control across our construction and mining projects. Your primary focus will be on ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and value optimisation on both infrastructure development and mining support operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
- Manage tender processes and contract negotiations.
- Evaluate and approve subcontractor valuations and payments.
- Monitor project expenditures and forecast future financial performance.
- Provide commercial advice to project managers and site teams.
- Manage project cash flows, change orders, and variations.
- Ensure all project documentation aligns with company policies and contract requirements.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience in civil engineering and/or mining-related projects.
- Solid understanding of FIDIC, NEC, and other standard contract forms.
- Proven experience in both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying.
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and processes.
- Strong financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, CCS Candy, or similar cost management software.
- Registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., ZIQS, RICS, SACQSP) is an advantage
