Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop local capacity in the Mozambican Finance function, ensuring fit for purpose service delivery and an organisation to match with future requirements.
- Ensure the integrity of the SAGE system and all accounting records and that financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future investments.
- Work closely with the Compliance Officer, ensure a robust controls framework is in place and that risks are identified, mitigated and regularly reviewed.
- Contribute fully to the development and delivery of the Strategic Plan, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
- Manage down to the local finance team, manage up to Equity Partners.
- Provide insightful monthly reporting to the Partners on both a financial and activity based (Verticals) basis.
- Manage the cash position, ensuring the Partners have adequate and early insight into future funding requirements.
Requirements:
- Hold a current Professional Accounting qualification.
- 10+ years’ experience in senior Finance positions.
- Bi-lingual – English and Portuguese.
- Influential leader with the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level.
- Proficient in IFRS and experience of working in Africa.
- Significant experience of managing external relationships.
- Strong cash management and budgeting skills.
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making.
