Our client in Harare is looking for a Plant Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the Packaging industry.
An industry-leading packaging manufacturer is seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to lead operations at its high-capacity production facility in Harare. The company operates across multiple divisions. The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead day-to-day operations across all plant divisions ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and production targets are consistently met.
- Oversee production planning, inventory control, and resource allocation to optimize throughput and reduce downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and cost control.
- Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards, including BRCGS compliance.
- Manage and develop a large, multidisciplinary team by fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, maintenance, and quality control teams to ensure operational excellence.
- Monitor plant performance using KPIs and provide strategic input to senior management on capacity expansion and investment planning
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering. A master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior manufacturing or plant management role within the packaging, plastics, or related industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing large teams and complex plant operations.
- In-depth knowledge of modern manufacturing systems, quality assurance standards, and production technologies.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and operational analytics.
- Demonstrated experience implementing sustainability or recycling practices in manufacturing is highly desirable.
