Our client in Maputo is looking for Finance Controller to join their team for a job vacancy within the FMCG sector.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting and Finance team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
- Supervise the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
- Oversee the maintenance of the fixed assets register and ensure appropriate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax returns (VAT, income tax, withholding tax, etc.).
- Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control environment over financial reporting and operational processes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities in coordination with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting and financial control experience, including team management.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP standards.
- Experience leading external audits and interacting with statutory auditors.
- Excellent knowledge in ERP systems (Primavera, SAP).
