Our client, The Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka, is looking for an Administrative Assistant in a permanent full-time position to join their team.

The Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka has approximately 25 employees. The overall tasks of the Embassy include political and economic reporting, trade promotion, management of development cooperation, as well as consular services to Swedish citizens.

The Embassy is currently recruiting a locally employed Administrative Assistant. The position is permanent and full time.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to perform a written test in English.

Main duties of the Administrative Assistant:

  • Responsible for protocol issues
  • Responsible for visas, work permits and diplomatic IDs
  • Custom clearance of incoming freight to the Embassy
  • Registration of vehicles
  • Contact with and answering inquiries from Swedish and national authorities as well as from the general public
  • Assist with procurement and purchases to the Embassy
  • Responsible for maintenance of office equipment
  • Support the Embassy with various administrative tasks

Required competences:

  • Minimum five years of work experience as an Administrative Assistant, Secretary or similar
  • Strong ability to work independently; proactive and result oriented
  • Attention to detail and efficient administrative skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office programs, incl. Outlook, Word and Excel.

Merits/added advantages:

  • University degree within business administration
  • Work experience from an Embassy and/or an international organisation

Salary and benefits:

The embassy offers an international and dynamic working environment. The salary is determined on an individual basis. The position is subject to the Embassy’s terms and conditions for local staff.
