Chief Executive Officer

Our client, with diverse operations within Zimbabwe, is looking for an experienced operational executive to join their team. He/she must have managing director or chief executive officer experience and have a finance or operations background.
Responsibilities
- Develop the group’s culture and overall vision.
- Develop and execute the group’s business strategy and business plans to drive growth and profitability by effectively communicating with the group’s senior executives to achieve commitment and ownership.
- Work with all stakeholders including the board of directors, shareholders, government, and other senior execs to ensure business strategy alignment.
- Streamline and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop key performance indicators and metrics to assess performance and take appropriate action in line with group policy.
- Identify key performance areas including new projects and/or investments, expansion opportunities and other growth opportunities.
- Oversee the group’s financial performance including budgeting, monitoring resource allocation, monitoring expenditure and safeguarding assets.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation and diversification.
- Ensure a healthy cash-flow for the group.
- Ensure skills development and skills retention within the group by building and leading a high-performance senior executive team with the same mindset.
- Work with HR to identify, develop and retain top talent within the group.
- Adapt recruitment policies to changing environments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
- Represent the company in high-level matters with government, shareholders, business partners and regulatory bodies to ensure sound relations.
- Stay abreast of technological trends and innovations relevant to the industries and drive initiatives to enhance performance, reliability and efficiency.
- Use technology to improve operational processes.
- Develop, implement and lead crisis management plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Report to the shareholders and board of directors on group performance and key initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Business or Engineering or Finance is essential.
- Post graduate qualification such as an MBA, MBL, etc., is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CEO or Managing Director of a large company or organisation is required.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, finance and performance management.
- Must be knowledgeable about departmental business functions, i.e. Finance, HR, Security, etc.,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills
- Excellent business acumen and personal integrity.
