Our client in Lusaka, is looking for a Business Development Representative, to join their team for a job vacancy within the employee insurance services.

Job Summary

As a Business Development representative, you will drive growth and expansion for our company in Zambia. You will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, building, and maintaining strong relationships with potential clients, and
developing strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals. Your expertise in business development and market analysis will contribute to the overall success of our organization in country.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Contacting and engaging potential clients recording in our CRM software system via phone calls, emails and presential calls.
  2. Scheduling appointments for the sales department and following up with the customer throughout the sales process.
  3. Following up with customers from marketing campaigns/ events, surveys, etc.
  4. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, understanding their business needs and offering customized solutions.
  6. Develop and execute effective sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
  7. Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for business expansion.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business development initiatives, proposals, and presentations.
  9. Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reports, and updates to management.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, market changes, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  11. Act as a brand ambassador, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  12. Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns and strategies.
  13. Continuously enhance business development processes and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
2. Proven track record of success in business development or sales roles.
3. Familiarity with the industry or market in which the company operates.
4. Previous experience in consultative selling or solution-based sales is highly desirable.
5. Knowledge of current business development trends and best practices.
6. Ability to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
