Our client in South Africa – Hartebeespoort is looking for a IT Administrator to join their team for a job vacancy within the Information Technology industry.

  • To support the IT environment for ULSA, including buying stations. Install, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications, desktop and network troubleshooting, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (including servers) and other applications and services used by the company. Manage connectivity for all sites.
1.            SOFTWARE SUPPORT

1.1          Oversee and administer networks, servers and workstations

1.2          Support all forms of MS Windows, Servers and Workstations, Installation, Administration and diagnosis

1.3          Create and manage user accounts on the  Servers

1.4          Manage user work areas on workstations

1.5          React to ‘Job Request Forms’ from users and timeously solve their problems

1.6          Ensure that all software systems are running in accordance to the required standard

1.7          Ensure all domain controllers are running properly with regular event log checks

1.8          Commission newly acquired equipment

1.9          Administer and manage desktop operating system updates and service packs.

1.10       Apply knowledge of LAN’s and WAN’s and the connectivity layer of the internet & conduct administration of the Email and Internet systems

1.11       Plan, document and institute disaster recovery plans

1.12       Logging all IT problems and resolutions

1.13       Keeping inventory of hardware and maintenance records

1.14       Ensure software and hardware licenses are current.

1.15       Ensure Service Level Agreements with suppliers and sub-contractors are in place and are drawn up to company contractual standards and are logged, managed and reviewed regularly

1.16       Install new systems

1.17       Escalate any IT problems that cannot be resolved in-house to the Africa Regional Head of IT or line manager.

1.18       Administer and manage VMWARE & ESXi Host Client.

1.19       Basic knowledge of Microsoft IIS & SQL

1.20       Administer and manage Active Directory and Group Policy Management.

1.21       Administer and manage Veeam Backup application.

1.22       Administer and manage Unifi Network application.

 

 

 

 

 

2.            TRAINING

2.1          Assists users on how to use new and existing systems.

2.2          Keep abreast of IT technology,

2.3          Advising on personal and user training needs and courses available

 

 

 

 

3.            DATABASE ADMINISTRATION

3.1          Administer the backup and recovery of specific databases e.g. Sage, BCP and ERM

 

 

 

 

 

4.            ANTIVIRUS ADMINISTRATION

4.1          Administer computer security and anti-virus software as per corporate standards

 

 

 

 

5.            BACKUPS

5.1          Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly backups are performed successfully for all sites

5.2          Ensure that backups are secure and verified off site

5.3          Ensure that backups are tested regularly with random data restores

 

 

 

 

6.            STRATEGIC INPUT

6.1          Ensure approved policies & procedures are in place to effectively acquire, install, and manage technology resources within the company

 

 

 

7.            OTHER

7.1          Manage local and Azure domains.

7.2          Troubleshoot domain issues to include DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, InTune VDI clients, etc.

7.3          Administer and manage VOIP solutions.

7.4          Administer and manage barcode printers and barcode scanners.

7.6          Administer and manage Office 365, SharePoint, Teams and InTune.

   

 

 

  • Must ensure that all software and hardware are replaced and/or updated according to SLA’s
  • All IT Monthly reports to be completed by the 1st of every month
  • All IT policies and procedures must be implemented within time frames stipulated
  • Planned visits to all sites (Sites would need to be visited – ULSA office, Speculatie, Oudtshoorn
  • Deliver high-quality solutions as part of the ETS core project team while following best practices, and team/department standards and procedures.

 

POST SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS

State the minimum level of formal post school qualifications required for this job (for example:  a Degree, Diploma, Certificate, City & Guilds Apprenticeship qualifications).

 

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
  • MCSE | MCP | A+ | N+

EXPERIENCE

State the minimum length and type of relevant experience required for this job from qualifying (for example:  three years’ experience in the design and maintenance of certain equipment may be required for a technical position).

 

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Windows environment including administration of servers, LAN , WAN and communications.
  • 3+ years of experience managing an enterprise level domain.
  • Microsoft Azure\Office 365 administrative experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of VMWARE & ESXi Host Client.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
  • Experience with Office 365, SharePoint, Teams and InTune.
  • Strong knowledge of Veeam Backup application.
  • Strong knowledge of Unifi Network application.
  • Basic troubleshooting knowledge of Microsoft IIS & SQL
  • Ability to liaise with ISP, MSP, VOIP, hardware & software vendors and contractors.
  • Managing IT budget for all IT expenditures including CAPEX, OPEX.
  • maintaining and implementing Veeam backup strategy to local, offsite and cloud.Managing. maintaining and implementing VOIP solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and troubleshooting skills of barcode printers and barcode scanners.
