Our client in Lusaka is looking for a Principal to join their vacancy within the Educational Industry.

The Principal plays a pivotal role in providing visionary leadership and effective management to ensure the overall success of the school. They oversee all aspects of school operations, including academic programs, staff management, student affairs, and community relations. The Principal serves as the chief administrator, promoting a positive school culture, fostering academic excellence, and facilitating the holistic development of all students.

Responsibilities:

Educational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for academic excellence and student achievement.
  • Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with educational standards and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and professional development initiatives.
  • Lead faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and curriculum planning efforts to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

Administrative Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and facility management.
  • Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Manage budgetary resources effectively, allocating funds for instructional materials, technology, and staff development.
  • Supervise administrative staff, teachers, and support personnel, providing guidance and support as needed.

Student Support and Discipline:

  • Promote a positive school culture that values respect, responsibility, and inclusivity.
  • Implement student support services, including counseling, special education, and behavioral intervention programs.
  • Address disciplinary issues and behavioral concerns in a fair and consistent manner, following established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community agencies to support student well-being and academic success.

Community Relations:

  • Cultivate positive relationships with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders through regular communication and engagement activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the school and external organizations, including local government agencies, businesses, and nonprofit groups.
  • Organize and participate in community events, school fundraisers, and outreach initiatives to promote school visibility and support.

Professional Development:

  • Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills, stay abreast of educational trends, and fulfill licensure requirements.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to faculty and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous growth.
  • Participate in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to network with colleagues and share best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field (Doctorate preferred)
  • State certification or licensure as a school administrator or principal
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of educational policies, regulations, and best practices
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others toward shared goals
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities

Working Conditions:
