Job Title: Legal Assistant to the CEO

Role Overview:
The Legal Assistant will be responsible for tracking all legal and administrative-related files of the company, liaising daily with the company’s legal council, and acting as a pivotal resource to the legal council’s office. This position demands a proactive individual with a strong legal background, exceptional organizational skills, and fluency in both English and French. A deep understanding and experience in OHADA law are essential, reflecting our commitment to adhering to regional legal standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
– Manage, organize, and track all legal documents and files related to the company’s operations, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
– Act as the primary liaison between the CEO’s office and the company’s legal council, facilitating smooth and efficient communication and coordination.
– Provide comprehensive support and assistance to the company’s legal council, including research, document preparation, and administrative tasks.
– Ensure compliance with OHADA law and other relevant legal frameworks, keeping the company abreast of any changes in legislation that may impact operations.
– Prepare reports and presentations for the CEO and other stakeholders, summarizing legal activities, compliance status, and any pending issues.
– Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring they meet company policies and legal standards.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field. A paralegal certificate is advantageous.
– Proven experience in a legal assistant role, particularly in a corporate environment.
– Strong background in OHADA law is essential.
– Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
– Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software.
