Our client in Chegutu is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the Poultry industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production
  • Conduct market analysis and identify where efficiencies can be achieved
  • Process purchase orders to acquire goods
  • Identify opportunities for the achievement of cost savings through procurement and supply chain management
  • Manage supplier relationships and supply chain risk, ensuring contract terms and service level agreements achieve maximum benefit to the company
  • Contracts administration and periodic supplier evaluations
  • Implementing and enforcing fleet policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Collaborating with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and timely procurement of vehicles, parts and services
  • Developing and implementing fleet management strategies to optimize fleet utilization, minimizing downtime, and reducing costs
  • Ordering and monitoring fuel consumption and implementing cost-saving measures, such as fuel efficiency programmes
  • Ordering, storages and monitoring of feed and vaccines

 

Key Skills:

  • A bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing Management / Logistics or a related field
  • Member of a professional body
  • Strong understanding of procurement and negotiating techniques
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Good relationship management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Time management skills
