Overview

Our client in Lusaka is looking for a Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs to join their vacancy within the Finance Industry.

The role will report in country and functionally to the regional centre and has direct responsibility for the implementation of the Brand and Marketing Strategy, Innovation, Customer Insights and Satisfaction, Citizenship and Corporate Affairs.

The role is accountable for marketing excellence across the country and plays a key role influencing the execution of marketing strategies within country.

Reports to Managing Director

Main accountabilities and approximate time split

Leadership – 40%            

  • Lead, inspire and coach a team of high calibre professionals, creating succession to key roles and enhancing the management capability of the Entity.
  • Be accountable for the resourcing, development and maintenance of the in-country External Affairs leadership team committed to achieving success through each other.
  • Agree challenging performance and development objectives for all direct reports providing regular feedback/coaching to ensure their maximum potential is achieved.
  • In the way you lead on a daily basis, be a role model for your leadership team, doing things wholeheartedly, communicating with passion and enthusiasm, embracing change as a way of working.
  • Pursue your own development to increase personal effectiveness, acknowledging strengths and areas of development.

Driving Business Direction – 40%             

  • Work with the in-country Executive leadership to drive through the in-country business strategy based on market and competitor intelligence and a deep understanding of the business
  • Be accountable for the in-country mission, brand and strategy and to enable our customers and our colleagues to understand and connect with it.
  • Be accountable for a world class in-country internal and external communications capability that supports the business, reaches the customers and helps change their behaviour, and enables our colleagues to do their jobs more effectively.
  • To work closely with internal and external  stakeholders and be responsible for driving the in-country Community strategy in line with business priorities

Control – 10%   

  • Accountable for the governance and operating frameworkson Marketing and Brand management, and Corporate Affairs
  • Implement and manage the public policy engagement strategy
  • Implement and Manage all relevant Marketing , Corporate Affairs and broader business policies.
  • Overall Management of all key business agreements and contracts
  • Service Level Agreement Management

Personal Development – 10%    

  • Identifies appropriate formal and occupational (informal) training needs and courses (internal/external) to develop oneself.
  • Up-Skills oneself regarding new products and procedures through attendance of workshops/presentations and reading of internal and external communications
  • Participate in annual performance reviews
