Our client in Zambezia is looking for a Buyer to join their team within the Agriculture Sector

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feed, tools, machinery, and spare parts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services to farms or production sites.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse or farm managers to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Compare prices, prepare quotations, and analyze market trends to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure all purchased goods meet required agricultural quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
  • Work closely with farm managers, agronomists, and production teams to forecast procurement needs.
  • Inspect delivered goods to ensure compliance with specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (preferably in agriculture or agribusiness).
  • Strong understanding of agricultural inputs, farming operations, and seasonal demand cycles.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement systems (ERP knowledge is an advantage).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple suppliers and deadlines.
