Our client in Maputo is looking for a Head of Procurement to join their team for a job vacancy within the Retail Sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the overall procurement strategy and operations.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Monitor market trends and identify new suppliers and products.
• Assess supplier performance and manage supplier relationships.
• Work closely with internal departments to understand their procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with all procurement regulations and company policies.
• Analyze and report on procurement metrics and savings achieved.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team to enhance performance and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics and supplier management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Certification such as CPSM or CPM is a plus.
