Our client in Lusaka is looking for a dedicated and passionate Remedial teacher to join their team for a vacancy within the Educational industry.

As a Remedial Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students who are struggling academically in various subjects. Your primary goal will be to help these students overcome learning obstacles and achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ specific learning needs and challenges.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique requirements.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students, focusing on areas where they need additional support.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning activities to reinforce concepts and enhance understanding.
  • Monitor students’ progress regularly and adjust instructional methods as needed.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to coordinate support services and ensure continuity of learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Provide feedback to students, parents, and school staff on student achievement and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about best practices in remedial education and participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license.
  • Specialization in remedial education, special education, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with students who have learning disabilities, language barriers, or other challenges preferred.
  • Strong understanding of educational assessment techniques and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
