One of our clients, a membership-based trade association in the transport industry is look for a Chief Executive Officer<\/span> for their Zambia operations.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/span>
(a) The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will head the Secretariat of the Association and report to the
Executive Committee. The basic functions, duties and responsibilities are as follows;
\u2022\tEnsure that the Association\u2019s mission and programs are consistently presented in a positive
image to the relevant stakeholders;
\u2022\tConduct effective membership recruitment programmes to increase and retain the
membership of the Association;
\u2022\tImplement the objectives within the time frame as set out by Executive Committee and the
\u2022\tConstitution of the Association;
\u2022\tEnsure that objectives of the Association as regard to achieving stated \/ agreed targets and
standards performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence are attained;
\u2022\tEstablish, sustain and formulate organizational culture, values, and reputation in the
transport industry and with the regulatory bodies;
\u2022\tShall be responsible for the overall budgetary control as set by the Association; and
\u2022\tTake minutes of all Executive Committee Meetings and for any other meetings which so
delegated to attend on behalf of the Association.
\u2022\t(b) Maintain a close relationship with all members in order to:
\u2022\tIdentify difficulties faced in the industry and to resolve these through interaction with relevant
\u2022\tGovernment institutions and the Executive Committee of the Association;
\u2022\tCommunicate activities and achievements of the Association through monthly news bulletins; and
\u2022\tEnsure membership fees are fully collected.<\/p>\n

(c) Act as a lobbyist for the Association to appropriate institutions within and outside Zambia in order to
obtain services which will add value to the Association.
(d) The job entails frequent travel both locally and regionally.<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required<\/span>
The ideal candidate must have experience in the transport industry
\u2022\tAdvanced degree in logistics and transport, engineering, business or any related field;
\u2022\tMembership to a professional body;
\u2022\tAt least 5 years of demonstrated capacity and experience in designing, implementing and managing in the transport industry
\u2022\tprivate sector engagement activities, including working with public, private logistics and transport
\u2022\tservice providers or trade associations in Zambia;
\u2022\tFluent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite;
\u2022\tAbility to work independently with minimum supervision;
\u2022\tGood oral and written communication skills;
\u2022\tOrganisational skills and ability to multi-task; and<\/p>\n

\u2022\tAbility to be proactive and take initiative.<\/div>\n
