This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious agricultural professional looking to further their career within a dynamic and expanding commercial farming environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working alongside an experienced management team, the successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day management of a large-scale commercial farming operation. A key component of the role will involve supporting the production, storage and marketing of onions during the horticultural season, while contributing to the management of the broader cropping programme throughout the remainder of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the planning and execution of commercial cropping programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Support onion production, harvesting, storage and marketing activities.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee field operations including planting, irrigation, fertiliser application and crop protection.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor crop performance and recommend improvements to maximise yields.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and motivate farm employees.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with machinery planning and operational logistics.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate production records are maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Support health, safety and environmental compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with the management team to achieve production targets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Production, Horticulture or a related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Practical commercial farming experience.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in horticultural production, particularly onions, will be a distinct advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of commercial farming systems within Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates with 5\u201310 years&#8217; commercial farming experience are encouraged to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Package<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An attractive package is offered and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive salary<\/li>\n<li>Performance-based production bonus<\/li>\n<li>Medical aid<\/li>\n<li>Accommodation<\/li>\n<li>Farm motorcycle for on-farm transport<\/li>\n<li>Shared farm vehicle for business-related travel<\/li>\n<li>Leave entitlement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why Apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a great opportunity to join a highly respected commercial farming business with a diverse cropping programme and a strong commitment to operational excellence.
