The successful candidate will be responsible for geological modelling, resource estimation, orebody interpretation, geological data management, and grade control support to ensure accurate mineral resource evaluation and optimised mine planning. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to efficient and safe mining operations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with industry standards and best practices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support and mentor junior geologists, technicians, and field assistants to maintain high technical standards and encourage professional development.<\/li>\n<li>Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate geological field activities and ensure effective utilisation of resources.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct geological interpretation, orebody modelling, and mineral resource estimation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate geological databases, sampling records, and QA\/QC systems.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee drilling programmes including logging, sampling, and core management.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely delivery of geological information to support mine planning and production activities.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor ore reconciliation processes and recommend improvements to resource performance.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and optimise geological modelling software and digital geological databases.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate integration of geological data into mine planning workflows.<\/li>\n<li>Support digital transformation initiatives including digital mapping, database automation, and data validation systems.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate and implement new geological technologies and software to improve efficiency and data quality.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and auditable geological records, reports, and resource documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Support technical audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory inspections.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to QA\/QC procedures and geological reporting standards.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with Mine Planning, Survey, Metallurgy, and Production teams.<\/li>\n<li>Provide geological input into mine designs, development layouts, and long-term mine planning.<\/li>\n<li>Support production reconciliation and performance analysis through accurate geological information.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly geological reports, resource updates, and technical presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with budgeting, contractor management, and procurement of geological supplies and services.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in <strong>Geology<\/strong>, Applied Geology, or a related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum <strong>5\u201310 years\u2019 experience<\/strong> in resource geology within a mining environment.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in <strong>gold mining operations<\/strong> will be a distinct advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to underground and\/or open-pit mining environments.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in geological and mining software such as <strong>Deswik, Micromine<\/strong>, or similar platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of mineral resource estimation principles and QA\/QC systems.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing geological databases, drilling programmes, and digital geological workflows.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of mining regulations, geological reporting standards, and compliance requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic mining environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Interested and suitably qualified and experienced candidates to send through their CVs to <strong><a href=\"mailto:hkanjee@priconsultants.com\">hkanjee@priconsultants.com<\/a><\/strong> with the <strong>Resource Geologist<\/strong> in the subject line, no later than <strong>04\/06\/26<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NB: Regrettably only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":18,"featured_media":5344,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_application":"hkanjee@priconsultants.com","_company_name":"","_company_website":"","_company_tagline":"","_company_twitter":"","_company_video":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_remote_position":0,"_job_salary":"","_job_salary_currency":"","_job_salary_unit":""},"job-categories":[185],"job-types":[114],"class_list":["post-10202","job_listing","type-job_listing","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","job_listing_category-mining","job_listing_type-available","job-type-available"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
